Hi there! I’m Heather, The Cautious Creative, and I’m so glad you’re here.

My story begins at age 6 with a simple act of creativity (or thievery, I’ll let you be the judge)… in my mind, I was simply “borrowing” fabric from my Mom to turn it into something beautiful. After a lot of yelling & tears, my Mom did the only thing she could- she taught me to sew, unlocking a whole new world of creativity and curiosity. I was constantly thinking “hmmmm, what can I make with this?” I also found joy in cooking and creating culinary masterpieces like mac & cheese and jell-o! I wrote plays & poetry. In High school it was painting, ceramics & drawing. In College, I studied Fashion Design and taught myself to reupholster furniture. Soon after I was married, I fell in love with thrifting and brining new life to old, unwanted things. About 10 years into our marriage, I decided I wanted to learn photography, so I bought a mirrorless camera and have been photographing, pets, people, plants & weddings for over 10 years. I also created a floral business where I rent and create custom florals. Soooooo, in a nutshell, I love to create. So let’s not waste any time and get started

creating something beautiful together.
